Seven Major Hebrew Words for Praise:
1. Hallel - shine, make a show, boast, clamorously foolish, to rain, to celebrate, boast, make foolish, feign or make mad
2. Yadah - Comes from two root compound words: Yad - open hands; open hands posture, direction, power; Ah - a derivative from God's Name Jehovah; Yada praise is responding to God with uplifted or outstretched hands. (Absolute surrender)
3. Todah (Towdah) an extension of the hands in adoration; sometimes rendered as thanksgiving; admit or acknowledge as real or true.
4. Barak
5. Shabach
6. Zamar
7. Tahillah
Todah praise is an attitude. I'm thanking God. Agree with God. I'm taking God at His Word.
Hands up to God. Salute God for who He is and not what He does.
Praise to God on credit. Thanking God for things not yet received as well as what we already have or in hand.
It's a shift in attitude and how we approach it.
Todah a praise filled confession that God's Word is infallible and is working in your circumstances.
Todah praise is confidence in God's character.
